Greetings! I’m Riza. Aka RizaAnne.
I’m a 22 year old student from NJ aspiring to become a veterinarian. While I love all different kinds of animals and spend most of my time learning biology and chemistry and everything in between, I’m also very fond of writing and I’m also a bit of a foodie. Which leads us to why I started this blog. =)
For our 4th anniversary, my boyfriend, Hans, bought me a Teavana Perfect Tea Maker and some White Ayurvedic Chai and Samurai Chai Mate tea. I loved the gift so much (especially because our anniversary is in the cold cold month of January) and that’s how I started getting interested in loose leaf teas. After searching online to find out what I could about this amazing beverage, I found a few tea blogs, and I figured I wanted to start one of my own. I started Tornado in a Teacup in July 2011 for that reason originally, but I’ve decided to expand on to food and other things as well. My interests are diverse and when my taste buds are happy, I like to share the news with everyone and hopefully make them happy, too.

Aside from food and beverages, I like the Gilmore Girls, internet meme jokes, doggies (big and small), Pokemon, the ukulele, Final Fantasy and other role playing games (including online role playing and Dungeons and Dragons), zoos, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and lots of other nerdy stuff. =)
I also love love love my dog Rory. I’m sure you’ve seen her before, underneath the teacup on the banner of this blog. =)
She is a 2 year old toy fox terrier/pomeranian mix, and she is the heart of my life. Her full name is Rorschach, for the character Rorschach in the comic book/movie Watchman, but it was shortened to Rory for ease, as well as because I love the Gilmore Girls. She is terribly smart and knows tons of tricks. Rorydog is a spunky gal and I wouldn’t trade her for the world!
